The first thing we went to do today was going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a gigantic museum at the edge of central park. There where so many exhibitions that we had to choose a few if we wanted to see them properly. so first we went to the ancient Egyptian exhibition, which was full of objects and statues that they found in an ancient temple in Egypt, with as the highlight a part of the temple itself. afterwards we went to the American wing, where they exposed American art and furniture, with as highlight the Frank Lloyd Wright room, Wright was one of the top architects of the United States. after lunch we went to the last exhibition I really wanted to see, and this was the armor exhibition. In this exhibition they displayed (mainly medival) weapons and armor from different cultures, like the European (for example English, German and Dutch), Asian (Persian, Japanese) and middle eastern culture. From most of the weapons and armor you could tell where they where from.
After the Metropolitan (also called the Met) we went back to central park, because the last time we went there we only saw the Northern half of the park. This time we went to a part called the Ramble, where we spotted some really nice birds. We went on to see the Lake, and also the Dakota where John Lennon was shot and the Strawberry fields, where they have made a memorial for him.
Later we went to get our 5-day passes, which allow you to enter some of New York's best attractions in 5 days time for a good price. On our way to the subway home we came past time square, and that place really amazed me. There was light everywhere, and all the billboards where playing commericals. For a second you don't know where you are, it is very overwhelming.
