day 3 NY

Today I had my first real American pancakes for breakfast, my hosts told me it would be absolutly neccecary to taste those while I was visiting. I really enjoyed those, and after breakfast we headed to the subway to go to Manhattan again. This time we took the Staten Island Ferry to see some beautiful things like the statue of liberty and the skyline of Manhattan.
After the trip on the ferry we went to see the financial district in downtown Manhattan to see the 9/11 memorial. where the towers used to stand there are now waterfalls with all the names of the victims written on it. I think they really made a beautiful memorial, because the massive holes that are still there (turned into waterfalls) show the impact of the attacks on the towers but also on American society. We did not have time to visit the 9/11 museum, but we will go back there sometime during my internship.
On our way home we had some New York Pizza, something my hosts had recomended, and it tasted really good. I really looked my eyes out when walking trough downtown Manhattan, they have some of the tallest buildings of the city over there.
