Today we left New York and headed for New Jersey to have brunch with some friends and family from my hosts. We went to a little restuarant where we had a delicious meal and I had some nice conversations with some of the friends who knew a lot about the Netherlands, as he had many friends and some relatives living there.
Afterwards we went over to the house of the father of one of my hosts, where Eli (the son of the family, who is 17 like me) ended up creating a new kind of sport that combined soccer and baseball, which we both really enjoyed.
On our way to New Jersey, which is only a 45 minute drive without traffic, we got stuck in traffic, about which one of my hosts said: "now you see the real New York". It took a long time to reach the Holland tunnel (which runs below the river that seperates New York from New Jersey), but we did have a great view on Manhattan and the new One World Trade Center, which really pops out of the sky line.
Tomorrow will be me first day on the job at the Long Island University, I'll tell about that in tomorrow's report.
